Does this parrot know who killed its owner?

A DEAD Michigan man’s parrot could turn his wife into a jailbird.
Bud, a smart and vulgar African grey parrot, may know who shot and killed his owner Martin Duram last May in his Ensley home in the US, according to Mr Duram’s parents and local police.
Weeks after Mr Duram has murdered, Bud began squawking “Don’t f**king shoot” — leading Mr Duram’s father, Charles, to believe those were his son’s last words.
“I personally think he was there and he remembers it and he was saying it,” Charles told NBC affiliate WOOD-TV.
His wife, Lillian, agrees.
“That bird picks up on everything and anything and it’s got the filthiest mouth around,” she said.
No one has been charged with Mr Duram’s murder, which police initially thought was a double-homicide when they found Mr Duram’s body riddled with five shots and his wife, Glenna, with a headshot wound.
But Glenna ended up surviving — and now police are investigating whether she murdered her husband and then attempted to kill herself.
She had penned three suicide notes, one to her ex-husband and to her two children.
“I’m sorry but i love you and soo sorry i’ve been a disappointment to you these last 12 yrs or so Please forgive me your one of the best things i ever did — love mom,” one of the letters said.
Glenna later denied shooting her husband and said she had no memory of anything until she woke up at the hospital, according to police records obtained by WOOD.
African grey parrots often mimic speech they hear, and can do so even if they’ve only heard something just once.
“It’s definitely an argument between a man and a woman,” the owner of Casa La Parrot in Grand Rapids told WOOD after watching a video of Bud repeating the “Don’t shoot” phrase.
“In my mind, it’s something that he’s heard, definitely heard before. And if it’s fresh in his mind, he might even say it more now.”
Prosecutors are expected to make a decision about filing charges against Glenna, who they have officially named as a suspect in Mr Duram’s death, in the next few weeks.
But Lillian, who wants answers in her son’s death, is sure of what happened.
“The b***h did it,” she said.
