Easter Show ride operator charged with indecently assaulting a 2 yrs old girl
A 50-YEAR-OLD ride operator allegedly committed an indecent act in front of a two-year-old girl as she sat on a children’s aeroplane ride at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Police claim the man, from Edgeworth, near Newcastle, was operating the Red Baron amusement ride in the Sydney Olympic Park Show arena reserved for the youngest show-goers, when he allegedly rubbed his genitals through his clothing in view of the child on Monday.
“The act was allegedly committed while the girl was on the ride and was observed by the child’s mother who contacted police,” a police spokesman said.
The man was arrested at the Show about 7.15pm the following day and charged with committing an act of indecency towards a person aged under 10.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on April 12.
