5 Weird and Wacky Sculptors!

Does art always portray rational and plausible realities? Not quite! It can also be surreal, scandalising and gross! We have a selection of statues scattered across the world that are just too peculiar! In fact, they are so wacky and weird that viewers look at them with a slightly bemused and perplexed expression.
Here are 5 examples of bizarre sculptures that are conspicuous because of their shock value.
Kindlifresser or “Child Eater”
This 16th-century monstrosity located in Bern, Switzerland, depicts an ugly ogre stuffing a baby into its mouth with a few more in his possession for later munching. The piece is shrouded in mystery as nobody knows who built it, or why. The most popular theory behind this 500-year-old carnival sculpture is that the boogie man was meant to frighten kids.
Ozymandias on the Plains
The sculpture is ironically named after a Percy Bysshe Shelley romantic 1818 poem. It’s simply a pair of gigantic legs from the calf down in the middle of the desert.  Stanley Marsh 3, the eccentric millionaire commissioned this piece, which was designed in 1997 by artist Lightnin’ McDuff. The athletic socks were not part of the original structure and were painted by miscreants. Stanley decided to retain them and take the credit for the add-ons.

 Lobsta' Mickey
This six-foot animated rodent hybrid with large lobster claws was made by Breanna Rowlette. This oddly creepy statue was a part of the Disney-sponsored “75 InspEARations” project. The tall mouse that sits in Faneuil Hall marketplace was created as a tribute to Boston’s close ties with seafood.
Mano de Desierto
Chilean sculptor Mario Irarrázabal created a massive sculpture of an 11-meter-tall hand protruding out of the sand in the blank landscape of the Atacama Desert.  Called the Mano de Desierto, tourists flock to view this art piece that is reaching for the stars. Unfortunately, it is constantly ravaged by graffiti and needs frequent cleaning.
Piss
Another quirky piece is in front of the Franz Kafka museum in Prague.  Created by the unconventional David Cerny, it features two bronze male figures with realistically moving hips pissing into an enclosure shaped like the Czech Republic. Visitors can send an SMS to a number displayed next to the sculpture and have it written in the water.
